Lurk the images of the soul;
Reflections of the past, present and future-
Unfolding like a scroll;

The daily thoughts of life
And memories from the mind,
Are the fabric of the dream

A dream is like a mirror
Which exposes the inner man;
Whereas he unwittingly reveals his error
Unto his Maker’s judgmental hand.

Through my bedroom window-
A cool refreshing breeze,
Would come along with moon glow-
Through the Cottonwood leaves;

The gentle flutters of her leaf,
Lulled my heart to sleep…
And in a moments’ brief-
My soul was hers to keep!

Then when daylight came,
An Oriole would claim the tree;
And me, just the same
Of the shade over me!

Now, I miss that Cottonwood tree
Which was part of my childhood;
Often, I recall her memory
In those quiet evenings of that neighborhood.

Please watch over me.
For I walk, but often stumble
Like a blind man that can’t see.

I find it hard to stand –
And just like a little child,
I pray my soul you’ll take.

The trees stand still and bare –
And their shadows dreary lay
On the frozen meadow’s glare.
The crispy breath of winter’s whip
Has turned the brook to sleet…
And the once slow-running drip
Along the eaves, to a frozen fleet.

The steady song of fizzing snow
Has lulled the sun to sleep –
And while we get half its’ glow,
The crispy breath of winter’s whip
Has brought a frosted bash
Of fluffy flakes of cotton dip
Outside my window sash.

A vast field of glittering flowers
Laden with stardust, wishes and streams
Of magical meteor showers!

The brilliance of diamonds, rubies and gold
So enchanting to the hearts of men –
Are held with the mysterious riddles of old
Against a black velvety glen.

And the lustful moon, romances the stars
With an enticing silvery gown…
And every star, near and far
Is vying to capture her crown!

Come Love, and run away with me
